The Comprehensive and Affordable Electronic Medical Records System

Integrations

  • CorEMR imports inmate data from existing Inmate Management Systems (IMS). As part of the setup fee, CorEMR staff will setup and configure this integration. Users will then not have to reenter inmate names, ID numbers, booking information, or housing assignments.
  • CorEMR can send orders to and receive confirmations from your pharmacy provider. As part of the setup fee, CorEMR staff will setup and configure this integration.

Technology

  • CorEMR can be accessed simultaneously by multiple users from multiple terminals within the facility(ies).
  • CorEMR is accessible from a web browser and runs on the facility's local network (i.e. intranet) or multiple facilities can be supported by a server running at one central location.
  • CorEMR can run on Linux or Windows servers.
  • The CorEMR application is built on a SQL back end and is compatible with SQL Server 2005 and MySQL 5.0+.

Medical Forms

  • CorEMR allows for customized intake forms that can be completed by booking officers or restricted to completion by medical staff.
  • Intake forms can be configured with "triggers" that automatically create actions. (Such as creating an active problem for a diabetic or scheduling a task for the nurse on duty to review that intake form).
  • Transfer and release forms can be configured with "triggers" that automatically retrieve information from the inmate's medical chart such as active problem list, current medications and most recent PPD test results directly.
  • CorEMR allows facilities to easily create and modify their own forms using our proprietary form creation tool.
  • Forms can also be used to capture non-examination information such as administration and patient authorization forms.

Patient Charts (Paperless)

  • Users can search for an inmate chart by booking number, name, Social Security number or other identifiers. Historic inmates are filtered out by default.
  • CorEMR maintains an active medical problem list for all inmates.
  • Scanning and file upload capabilities allows CorEMR to be used as an entirely paperless system.
  • Any inmate requests, outside provider visits, lab reports, or any other non-system documents can be scanned and stored in the patient's chart.
  • A complete historical summary of every action recorded in CorEMR for each inmate is logged and kept.
  • Flow sheets for vital signs and blood sugar levels can be recorded and logged.
  • Users can type their inmate chart notes on CorEMR and automatically email a copy of that note to a chosen division in the jail (i.e. Cafeteria, Classification).
  • A chart summary current medical problems, current medications, a task summary, intake form summary, and recent medical history such as appointments, sick calls, prescriptions, completed forms, flow sheet entries, scanned documents, and notes. The summary also displays links to detailed information about each section of the chart.

Scheduler

  • CorEMR has a robust appointment scheduler that can be filtered by task category (doctor, dentist, nurse, social worker etc.), priority and housing location.
  • Tasks and appointments can be viewed by day, week or month.
  • Sick calls can be started directly from the schedule view.

Sick Call (SOAP Notes)

  • CorEMR uses the standard SOAP note format to guide the examiner.
  • For easy reference, the Sick Call displays patient summary information such as current medical problems and current medication compliance.
  • In addition to text notes, users can access Subjective, Objective, Action, and Planning actions directly from the Sick Call module allowing Doctors to record orders for later note off or complete the planning actions themselves.
  • Available actions include completing interview or exam forms, scheduling future appointments, ordering lab work, and ordering medications.
  • CorEMR can receive and store scanned documents and electronic files directly into sick calls.

MedPass / Pill Call

  • MedPass times are configured by day and MedPass list is populated accordingly.
  • MedPass lists can be grouped by housing unit or alphabetically by last name.
  • Inmate's acceptance or refusal of each dose is recorded. Graphical and detailed MAR reports can be viewed at any time.
  • If a facility uses inmate wristbands, CorEMR can integrate with our bar code reader to find each patient's chart, record MedPass compliance, and synchronize data with the CorEMR server.
  • Medication expiration dates, and refill notifications are highlighted.

Pharmacy Module

  • CorEMR can send orders to and receive confirmations from your pharmacy provider.
  • CorEMR has a pharmacy module for ordering, making MedPass assignments, and scheduling refills.
  • CorEMR can import your drug list and identify formulary medication.
  • CorEMR allows browsing or searching of drug list by name, analgesic category, and other criteria.

Reports

  • Because CorEMR captures a large amount of information on each inmate, it can easily generate Management Reports.
  • Management reports can be emailed to specific users every month.
  • Examples of Management Report items include the following:
    • Med Pass compliance/ non-compliance
    • Current inmates with TB
    • Active inmates yet to receive 14 day physical/nurse evaluation
    • Most common medications distributed
    • Most common problems
    • Age, gender and race distributions of inmate population
