03 October, 2005 – Logan, UT—CorEMR announced today agreement with Cache County Utah Sheriff's Department for the implementation of its electronic medical records (EMR) software at the Cache County Jail.
The EMR system provided by CorEMR saves medical staff members time by scheduling the inmate medical and dental appointments, building and maintaining medical record files, noting off the doctors orders through sick call and tracking prescription distribution. The system is being integrated with Cache County Jail's existing jail management system (Spillman Technologies) to keep inmate booking and medical data synchronized.
According to Jonathan Burton, Vice President of CorEMR, the medical staff at Cache County Jail has been extremely excited to get their EMR system up and running. "The Cache County medical staff has been great to work with. They even told administration they would put on a bake sale, if necessary, to generate the money for this system."
By participating in the CorEMR experience, Cache County Jail was able to save thousands of dollars on the county budget. The system is installed at the Cache County Jail, and includes capabilities for creating appointments, keeping patient notes, ordering prescriptions online, managing prescription inventory, performing sick calls, generating various reports and retrieving patient history and information.
